Default Guildlessness

I don't know what you did while spamming /rock this weekend but I have been checking other player for a tag and I must say a vast majority of player are in a guild. So i've been wondering, how many people are actually guildless by choice here. How many people automatically say No everytime they are asked to join a guild.

i had MAJOR lagg during the event and saw ppl without tags (myself included) which could be alot. I think its mainly new ppl who are guildless (and most are eager to join/make one) Older players usually just make thier own i think

I've never really cared to join a guild. I usually would hench missions and quests, and join pug's when I had to. The only times I joined was when I found someone that was very cool in game. Lately, however, I joined on because I want to have people I can join up with, to do HA or things like that. It gets frustrating waiting to find a group.

Guildless by choice. The general crowd (in any game for that matter) is extremely facultatively challenged and most Guilds just bring that asnine idiocy to the fore.

The times I was in a Guild was from the BWEs till Summer 06 when I got fed up with PvP in this game and quit.

Guilds are useless. Unless of course, if one's threshold / tolerance levels for immaturity are very forgiving.

I do get asked a lot, but I always decline...politely. And that is the way it's going to stay unless somehow, from somewhere, I run into a small bunch of rather smart, quick-tongued, opinionated, literate people. But that is too much to expect online, of course.

Take it easy,

GS.

In a guild of one at the moment. Guild chat isn't that exciting but every guild member is online when I log on.

Guildless atm, and not looking. I find myself rather comfortable with heroes and henches, or the occasionally PUG.

Get asked sometimes, especially after I've healmonked a PUG through a though mission but decline polite.

I just like the solitude when playing alone as well as the company when doing PUGs. Just happen to like the former more than the latter.

I would like to join an active, established, mature guild, but it seem to be impossible.

I usually get 1 or 2 invite per day in the Random Arenas, but I usually decline.

A few days ago I got a wild hair and decided to accept an invite, you know, take a chance. This is what happened:

officer1: lets do GvG, we need to recruit one more guy!

officer2: Im busy leveling, almost lvl20 and Ill join.

officer3: Im recruiting a guy now

officer1: Everyone meet in Guild hall for GvG!

Me: Ya sure, why not.

officer3: Im coming.

officer2: Im still lvl19, I cant yet.

*In the mean time everyone is waiting on officer2 to level to 20*

Me: dude, why dont you just roll a pvp character and get over here.

officer3: Ya

officer1: Come on man, hurry up, we are all waiting on you. Please come now.

officer3: Uh, sorry, I gotta go eat, my moms calling me

officer1: Ah freaking asdfawe;fjiasejfalwerfa.e

officer2: Okay, Im level20, im here, but I suck at pvp and dont like being pressured to do this.

me: So, whats the game plan, any strategy.

*silence*

*other guild members come to the guild hall and we have enough for a team*

officer1: starts the match

*oh damn, we are fighting Koreans!* *we are screwed!*

Me: (playing my monk and healing everyone like made as they die like lambs to the slaughter)

*1 minute later*

Match over.

officer2: Im quiting the guild, I dont like this kinda pressure.

me: wtf?

*the next 5 minutes was basically officers fighting with each other like children.*

*I promptly left the Guild, and here I am*

Still Guildless and waiting for the right one.

<Guildless by choice. No sense in being in a HA based guild, when you don't HA anymore.

Unless your a beginner, or into GvG, there isn't much need to be in a guild. There's no egotistical, immature people on your friends list.

Man, I would've offered to pay the 100g to join this guild just for a chuckle.

With a game like GW which appeals to a broad age range, it's clear that you'll find ppl whom you think are very immature (I do too). Likewise they will think we're probably boring old fuddy duddies

But I honestly can't understand why there are so many guildless people out there (who do actually want to join a guild). Unless, of course, the guildless people are so extremely fussy that finding a guild that meets their stringent criteria is practically impossible. I wonder...

There are great guilds out there...don't lose the faith

This is cause ANET invented a game called "GUILD wars" without any software to support guild creation and for ppl to find guilds.
You have to grind HA or hang around RA/TA to get an invitation, while guild officers needs to do the same. This is a just time lost both for you and the guilds. There are many guilds out there looking for players, and players looking for guilds.

It is ironic, really.

Being guilded should be very important in Guild Wars but there are many things working against doing things with other guildees:

-fairly restrictive size limitations of groups

-instanced based explorable areas (no late comers, no swapping people out, etc.)

-the campaign-spread along with the commensurate road blocks and inaccessible areas

Running any guild in any online game is very much like the herding of cats, but in Guild Wars those cats are blind folded, located within different homes and under the influence of very potent catnip.

There's not too much of a point in being in a guild unless you want to GvG or participate in HA or hardcore PvE areas, and don't like to keep a large friends list. Most guilds aren't worth joining, but there are still some pretty good ones that don't do GvG's.

I'm basically Guildless atm... all 40 of my members are nearing 1 week of being offline. Since Zergway was nerfed, most people stopped playing... maybe i'll think up an HA build that revolves around Minions so we can scream "ZERG RUSH" again as we enter the match. Good times, good times.

I agree with Doggie Dog, there are good guilds out there.

And I wouldn't restrict guild activities to be only for GvG, HA or PvE areas. In my guild, the primary pre-occupation are the friendly chatter, zany guild hall parties, quirky mini-games we invent, occasional RP and the casting and filming for vids to be placed on you-tube. In fact our TS server is mostly used for karaoke/jamming sessions. The main thing that you're with a group of buddies that you enjoy, whatever else comes next really doesn't matter.

Cats and Dog agreeing - whatever next?

Our guild hasn't reached the TS jamming session stage yet, but hey that's a good target! Note to self...

I have played with same guild members over year and it is more enjoyable play with friends and throwing some inside jokes (never saw them irl). Guildwars without guild is only... umm...

The only way I found a good guild was PMing a member and asking for a tryout. I'm still in the guild I found this way. Waiting to be discovered is overrated.

During the Gamer Weekend someone stuck his mike up to his stereo and blasted White and Nerdy over TS.

I got lucky and found a good guild with mostly mature members, if I wouldn't have gotten into a decent guild I'd probably be guild less right now.
